Scodix has announced that the E106 press will be commercially available from December 2017. The next units are planned to be installed in the EU and USA during Q1 2018.
Prospective customers can see the landmark B1 digital enhancement press running live ‘in situ’ at an open house from 4 to 6 December 2017 at Gundlach Packaging Group’s facility in Oerlinghausen, Germany.
Gundlach Packaging Group was the first company in Europe to install the Scodix E106 digital enhancement press for beta stage testing. Dr Uwe Schürmann, Gundlach CEO and managing partner elaborated, ‘The packaging market is still in the early stages of digital technology adoption, digital enhancement in a B1 format is the frontier – consequently Scodix provides a true distinction from the competition.
‘We are thrilled that we were the first company in Europe to test the Scodix E106 and we are excited to the world what the technology can do at the upcoming open house.’
The Scodix E106 made its debut at drupa 2016 and was developed specifically to deliver enhancement solutions for folding carton converters who need the 1060 x 760 mm format. Multiple premium quality applications are all delivered on one platform, including Scodix Foil, Sense, Spot, Variable Data and Cast & Cure.
Scodix CEO Roy Porat added, ‘We are delighted to be progressing into the commercial phase, still working to the schedule we outlined in 2016. Printers and converters investing in the E106 will be able to clinch a competitive edge with value added services that can truly energise brands. The B1 format brings all the advantages of digital enhancement currently being exploited in the commercial market and takes us a step closer a new standard in packaging enhancement.’
